A journalist asked us today…. “So what is a Product Manager?”
Products (which can be a good or service or a combination) are the engine rooms of every business, delivering value to their markets in exchange for revenue (usually).
In a nutshell, a Product Manager is the business person responsible for the company’s products. He or she is the custodian of the product vision. The Product Manager makes decisions throughout the life cycle of the product, from conception to retirement, optimising the company’s profit at every stage.
There is a whole lot more but we thought a simple, quick definition is always handy to have and use.
