Training? For Product Managers?

Before joining the Brainmates team full time I had been a Product Manager with Telstra, Optus, and eBay. I also worked in product development with Westpac for nearly 2 years. During that time the opportunity for formal training that actually supported the Product Management work that I was doing was virtually nonexistent.

This is not to say that there was no ‘personal development’ training at all, I have been on courses for presentation skills, influencing skills, an introduction to project management and negotiating skills. These have all been useful and worthwhile courses but have they really, directly helped me in my Product Management work? Not really.

So what is the answer? Well at the beginning of the year Brainmates was looking for the answer to this question, and in response to our search we partnered up with Blackblot to offer dedicated, focused and directly relevant product management training here in Sydney.

Well it is on again – very soon – so dust off those training budgets for some real Product Management training from November 12th to the 15th. We had to move it back one week because even though the Melbourne Cup is not formally a public holiday, it is not something that you want to be in the middle of a training course for.

As I write this there are only a few spaces left. This course will help you define your role as a Product Manager. It will explain the process of identifying an opportunity in the market place, all the way through to defining what the requirements are and then identifying ways of communicating the result back to your deserving market.

As far as I know this course is unique in Australia. I have searched for other alternatives and found no other local courses that compare. If you know of any please leave a comment below. Register NOW.
